Ruto Raila Deal – The Kenya Kwanza administration and Azimio are currently engaged in bipartisan talks, and these discussions are expected to conclude by the end of this month.
According to a reliable source from the Daily Nation newspaper, dated November 3, 2023, the final report from the dialogue team will call for both the opposition and the government to garner support from their respective members of parliament to ensure the recommendations are approved.
Some of the recommendations put forward by the dialogue team include the establishment of the office of the opposition leader and the position of the prime chief cabinet minister.
It has been disclosed that if a truce is reached between opposition leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto, this could pose challenges for Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and dissident ODM members of parliament, including Phelix Odiwour of Langata, Elisha Odhiambo, Caroli Omondi, Tom Ojienda, and Gideon Ochanda.
Gachagua and these rebel MPs have been staunch opponents of Raila Odinga, and if he reaches an agreement with President Ruto, they are likely to be the ones to suffer the most.
