UDA Dismisses Rumors of Kithure Kindiki’s Ouster, Clarifies UDA DPL Roles

President William Ruto’s UDA party has responded to widespread speculation following social media reports suggesting that Kithure Kindiki had been ousted as UDA DPL.

In a late-night press statement sent to all major newsrooms, the ruling party clarified that Prof. Kindiki remains a Deputy Party Leader. The entry of Issa Timamy, the Lamu Governor, into the same position fulfills a constitutional requirement of the UDA party to have three Deputy Party Leaders.

Additionally, the party reaffirmed its commitment to allowing voluntary decisions within its coalition partners, dismissing allegations of coercion for mergers, as seen with ANC.

What remains uncertain is the future of other Kenya Kwanza alliance partners, such as National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula (Ford-K) and Senate Speaker Amason Kingi (PAA), within the coalition.
