Twitter unverified DP Rigathi Gachagua. The badge that verifies the Twitter account of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is no longer present.

On April 9th, 2023, Gachagua’s Twitter account was stripped of its verification badge despite having amassed a following of more than 550,000 users.

In the beginning, the blue checkmark on Twitter was utilized to verify the prominence of the user. It was a way to confirm that the account holder was a distinguished personality in society, such as a government official, journalist, or public figure.

The verification checkmark on DP Rigathi Gachagua’s Twitter account has been revoked.

Starting April 1, 2023, Twitter gradually terminated the old verification program and stripped the verified badge from accounts associated with it.

Twitter replaced its outdated verification program with a new initiative called Twitter Blue, which prompts users to pay for certification.

According to Twitter, from April 1 onwards, their Verification program will be phased out. Accounts that have been previously verified based on the criteria of being active, notable, and authentic will no longer have the blue checkmark unless they have subscribed to Twitter Blue. If one wants to obtain or keep the blue checkmark, they must meet the eligibility requirements for Twitter Blue subscribers.
