Tharaka-Nithi Man given 20 yrs Jail term.
Yesterday in Tharaka-Nithi County, Marimanti Law court slapped Nkondi defilement suspect with 20 years jail term after finding him guilty of the defilement offense.
On 26th of January 2021 the suspect, Felix Nyaga Mwebia from Mwanyani Village Nkondi Ward was arrested for allegedly defiling a 15 years old girl.

After his arrest he was ordered to appear before then Marimanti Principal Magistrate hon. Main on 27th of January 2021. Consequently on 28th the same month Felix was released on ksh200,000 bond which made it possible for him to attend court sessions from home. However, the bond was removed upon then completion of the case.
Since then the case has been ongoing until yesterday when Marimanti resident magistrate Hon. Gacheru Julius rendered his ruling on the ongoing case. More News Dp Rigathi Gachagua Break’s Silence
According to Magistrate Hon. Julius the offense is a serious one under the sexual offence act no.3 of 2006, and therefore, he handed Felix Mwebia a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years in prison.
Felix’s, counsel in his defense pleaded with the court to be lenient on him, citing that he is the only son in his family and he is currently taking care of three orphans that he had adopted. He therefore, has fourteen days to appeal the ruling.
