The authorities are asserting that a few corpses uncovered in the Shakahola woods were possibly transported from the sanctuary of Pastor Ezekiel Odero located in Mavueni.
Assistant Superintendent of Police George Muriuki has sworn under oath in an affidavit that the state suspects that there was a transportation of bodies from Mavueni to Shakahola for burial.
It has been discovered through intelligence gathering that the deceased and defenseless believers of Odero were stored at a clandestine mortuary situated in Kilifi.
The legal documents indicate that they were subsequently moved and buried in the woodland of Shakahola.
The court documents state that further investigations are being conducted into the provided information.
It has been reported that there is credible information connecting the corpses found on an 800-acre property in Shakahola to numerous followers of a particular ministry who may have perished while seeking divine healing through the intervention of Odero.
The police probe was initiated as per the findings by the investigating team.
According to police sources, their intelligence indicates that multiple deaths have taken place at Mavueni’s Odero’s New Life Ministry church.
Sixteen fatalities are alleged to have occurred at Kilifi police station between 2022 and 2023, all of which have corresponding occurrence book entries.
