Wondering why that girl you slept with took P2 but she still got pregnant?
Well, she might just have taken fake ones without knowing. On Friday, personnel at the Inland Container Depot in Nairobi impounded 31,000 boxes of counterfeit emergency contraceptive pills.
The huge consignment was worth around Sh25 million and was meant to be sold to unsuspecting customers.
It looks like these fake pills have been in the market for a while. It’s only this time that the culprits were caught. The counterfeit goods were found stashed inside five containers together with other fake electronics, leather products and medical equipment.
Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Industrialization, Adan Mohammed said that an Anti-Counterfeit Agency office has been opened to increase efforts to crack down on counterfeit products that mainly come through the Kenyan ports.
